The UK Trade & Investment India Business Awards 2007, celebrating path-breaking UK-India business partnerships, were announced by Lord Digby Jones, UK Minister for Trade & Investment, at a glittering function at the Taj Mahal Hotel. The function was attended by top-ranking business people representing world-class business links between the UK and India. The UKTI India Business Awards are the only awards from a foreign government that focus on India's excellence as a global business partner for the 21st century.British Midland company Benoy won the award for New Market Entrant of the year while Tata Sons, a major investor in the UK and in the British Midlands, were awarded Investor of the Year.The Tata Group is one of India's largest and most respected business conglomerates. The Group's key companies are leaders in their respective sectors in India and are making their impact globally. The Group's adherence to business ethics and commitment to corporate social responsibility have earned it the trust of millions of stakeholders in a measure few business houses anywhere in the world can match.
In addition, UK Trade & Investment presented a Special Recognition Award to Mr Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Group, in appreciation of his sterling contribution to the promotion of business relationships between India and the UK and to mark 100 years of Tata collaboration with the UK.
Selected by an esteemed judging panel amidst steep competition, Benoy was awarded New Market Entrant of the Year for demonstrating business dynamism and start-up success in India. Benoy’s achievements were acknowledged in speeches during the evening by Lord Jones and the British High Commissioner to India, Richard Stagg.

Founded in Newark, Nottinghamshire (UK) in 1947, Benoy has become one of the best known architectural brands in India. As the lead architects of Bluewater in Kent and the Bullring in Birmingham, Benoy entered the Indian market at the end of 2005 securing a contract with one of India’s top developers, DLF.
