The British Midlands is already home to over 3,000 overseas companies and its vibrant economic and business environment continues to attract foreign investment.

BioCity NottinghamThe UK’s largest bioscience and healthcare innovation centre, BioCity opened in November 2002 and provides 12,000 square metres of state-of-the-art laboratories, equipment and office space for bioscience start-ups and more established ventures the centre is also establishing itself as a prime destination for virtual tenancies, providing companies with a prestigious UK address and a perfect starting point for expansion into UK and European markets.
The region has a thriving bioscience and healthcare business cluster, with many top-quality research establishments, two university hospitals and a number of international pharmaceuticals companies here, and BioCity will play a crucial role in driving this excellent work forward.
The Motor Industry Research Association (MIRA)With 26 state-of-the-art laboratories and 50 miles of test track used by 800 companies worldwide, MIRA is Europe’s leading independent automative research, design and development centre. Its UK headquarters are in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, and all the UK-based manufacturers have a base there.
Aston Science ParkIdeally located close to Birmingham City Centre, Aston Science Park has excellent links with industry and commerce, as well as the region’s major education and research institutions. The park offers a wealth of prestigious accommodation, designed to encourage the development of start-up companies and SMEs within the knowledge-based sector.
Birmingham Research ParkThis eight-acre site adjacent to the University of Birmingham campus is the home of the Institute of Research and Development, which focuses on technology-based industries. Tenants benefit from close links with the University’s science, engineering and medicine departments and work in fields such as biotechnology, computer services, engineering and medical diagnostics.
East Midlands Incubation Network (EMIN)EMIN is network of six British Midlands universities and is headquartered at the Innovation Centre at DeMontfort University. Activities have been aligned to key local-business requirements and the network has already attracted over £10 million of risk capital in its first few months of operation.
The Systems Engineering Innovation Centre (SEIC)This £59 million facility is a unique resource for systems engineering in the UK with global implications for both industry and academia. Developed by Loughborough University, the groundbreaking centre will help boost the engineering systems skills used by manufacturing companies across the region and the UK.
Coventry University Science ParkThis park occupies 8.1 hectares of prime development land just minutes from the city-centre facilities. It is home to a range of new and established businesses and offers an ideal base for expanding enterprises.
University of Warwick Science Park (UWSP)As one of Europe’s leading science parks, this site offers a unique package of property and business services to provide a dynamic and stimulating environment for technology-based companies. The park has been particularly successful in attracting companies in the areas of information, manufacturing and automotive technologies.
